Cedar
Construction
This birdhouse is constructed with
Cedar. Cedar has excellent insulating
properties, is
naturally durable, and is
resistant to moisture, decay and insect
damage. It has a pleasant and unmistakeable
aroma. Unfinished cedar has
a richly textured grain with colors ranging
from mellow ambers, reddish cinnamons and rich
sienna browns. These features make
each birdhouse unique and one of a
kind.
Designed Specifically Platform
Nesters
All of BetterBird's products are designed for
certain bird types. This product
is designed specifically for platform
nesters. The base is 8-3/4" x
8-3/4". The ceiling is approximately 8",
and it has an open front with partial
sides. The gabled roof peaks at 10", this
allows extra head room for doves, as they are
larger than other platform
nesters.
Where To Hang The
Birdhouse
Mount this platform on the side of your house
or shed and hang it 7 to 14
feet
above the ground. Ensure that the
location is protected from the elements and
predators, and has a good balance of sunlight
and shade.
Protect the Birds' Eggs and Locate the
Nesting Ledge Away From Predators
Do your best to protect the birds' eggs
and do not mount in a tree as
predators could invade the nest. Do
not provide access to the nest with objects
that cats, racoons and squirrels can
climb.
Easy to Clean
When it comes time to clean it out,
simply sweep off the platform.
