Birds Help Our Environment and Garden Habitat

Birds keep our ecosystem by controlling rodents and insect pests.  Birds do this well without the use of expensive and poisonous pesticides and chemicals. 

Birds also scavenge wastes, pollinate plants and search for food in  the garden.  Birds help our garden habitat by finding the greenfly, caterpillars and snails.  This is a huge benefit for the organic gardener.

Healthy bird populations suggest healthy habitats for all species, including humans.

Birds can also provide us with countless hours of enjoyment.  Birds brighten up our yards and gardens with their unique colors and shapes, and their wonderful song.

Unfortunately, with the expansion of cities and new residential growth into rural areas, our birds are becoming increasingly threatened.  How can you help?

There are numerous ways to help birds.  The best ways are to invest in good birdfeeders and birdhouses. Manmade birdhouses are so effective that they have been a large factor in the increasing number of Eastern Bluebirds which were on the brink of extinction.

Birds are beautiful creatures that improve our environment and garden habitat.  They also offer us with countless hours of enjoyment!
