Attract Barn and
Cliff Swallows
The BetterBirds' nesting ledge is
designed to attract barn swallows.
Cliff Swallows don't usually nest
near people, but on occasion may use the
nesting ledge.
Solid Western Red Cedar
Construction
BetterBird's Nesting Ledge is constructed
with Premium Western Red Cedar. Western Red
Cedar has excellent insulating properties, is
naturally durable, and is
resistant to moisture, decay and insect
damage. It has a pleasant and unmistakeable
aroma. Unfinished cedar has
a richly textured grain with colors ranging
from mellow ambers, reddish cinnamons and rich
sienna browns, making each birdhouse unique and
one of a
kind.
Designed Specifically for Barn and
Cliff Swallows
All of BetterBird's products are designed for
certain bird types. This
Barn Swallow Ledge is 8" wide with a 2" ledge.
It is 8" high with an open front, and partially
opened sides. The gable
ceiling peaks at 10" and it has
an open front with partial
sides.
Where To Hang The Nesting
Ledge
Mount this platform on the side of your garage
or shed and hang it seven to
twelve
feet above the ground. Ensure that the
location is protected from the elements and
predators, and has a good balance of sunlight
and shade.
Protect the Birds' Eggs and Locate the
Nesting Ledge Away From Predators
Protect the birds' eggs and do not mount in a
tree as predators could invade the
nest. Do not provide access to the nest
with objects that cats, racoons and
squirrels can
climb.
Build to
Last
BetterBirds' Nesting Ledge is
assembled using screws to keep it strong.
With the solid construction and Premium Western
Red Cedar, BetterBirds' nesting
ledges are constructed to last for
years!
Each Nesting Platform is
Unique
Please note that when you order a hand crafted
Western Red Cedar product from BetterBirds.com,
the
product that you receive will be unique.
The wood grain will differ from the picture on
our website, as cedar is a natural organic
product and no two pieces are the same.
Variations in the wood color, grain,
knots and texture will occur on each
product. We do not consider these
differences to be defects as they are
natural occurrences in the wood grain which can
be quite beautiful!
